Ah, Summer

Yesterday it was water balloons, and they're already asking when they get to go to the pool!

Russell and the girls went to the park down the road, and I guess Alison was attempting to slide down while Caitlyn was attempting to climb up, and Alison overcorrected (or something) and took a tumble off the side of the slide. She landed on her arm funny, and cried all the way home. She screamed when we tried to touch it so it was off to the doctor. After a cursory examination (and a lengthy explanation from Caitlyn), the doctor sent us to get x-rays. Yep, the bone was broken right above the wrist. They put a splint on for the weekend (that's what's in the picture), and we get to go on Tuesday to get a cast on. She's doing pretty well, all things considered, and even managed to eat dinner with her left hand. Going potty may be a challenge, though.

Megan helped make the jam, even though she doesn't eat it. She said, "Well, I wanted to make up for not eating it!"


And Caitlyn labeled the jars after it was all done. :) YUM!

Ah, recitals

Megan did a great job at her piano recital, only making a few mistakes. Afterward, she said, "The piano keys were so hard to press down!"

Gymnastics

It was the last class, so parents could come and take pictures. Unfortunately, the room was dark on Caitlyn's day, so the pictures didn't turn out too well. Still, both girls did well. And Caitlyn, at least, is glad that gymnastics is over ("No more Mousercize!"). We still think that if we could get a good non-competitive program for Megan, she'd enjoy it. Ah, well, maybe in the next town.

It's all about the chocolate bunnies

Happy May Day!

I didn't have the baskets ready in the morning, but this is what was waiting for the girls when they got home from school.

Megan didn't eat all her bunny -- only the ears; Caitlyn, on the other hand, devoured hers. Alison nibbled a bit -- she's not one for chocolate, really.
Then we had our egg hunt after dinner for FHE. Russell hid most of Megan's (I think she got a bit frustrated with the difficulty level).
(Yes, that's one in the drainspout.)
And both Megan and Caitlyn spent time helping Alison find all of hers.

Alison loved it; after we came in, she had Caitlyn (and me) hide the eggs over and over and over...
