Someone told me recently that Blogger isn't much longer for this world (which may or may not be true), and so I've made the decision to move the blog to WordPress.

Moon Eclipse

We spent the evening watching the moon eclipse a while back. I didn't get a picture of  the red moon, but I did get some of the progression.

It was pretty cool.

Games

We actually got out games this week. One because Kristen begged to do something as a family. So we played Quelf.

Oh the things you do for Quelf.

The second was because Wayne and Rebecca and kids dropped through (on their way to Austin) and brought the came Caitlyn wanted to play at the reunion in May. Unfortunately, she was tired because of rehearsal and didn't play with us.

We one the first round. But Wayne eventually won the second round, though it took a long time. Kristen put up a good fight, even though she lost in the end.

Our Stake Nativity Display

Someone, at some point this year, decided that what our ward/town needs is one of those Nativity/Creche displays. I don't know whose brainchild this was, or where they got the idea, but I was more than willing to go along with it. (Honestly? I've been hoping for an opportunity like this to come along. I just didn't want to be the one who brought it up.) It was this past weekend, and it turned out really quite lovely. I spent a couple hours there Saturday morning, nominally to help out with music, but Russell brought Alison and Kristen by to check out the displays.

Kristen got a picture by the table we set up. (Yes, we got our own table.)

And she told Russell that he needed to take a picture of the Peanuts nativity. So he did.

Alison did crafts in the children's room.

And then he snuck a picture of me playing.

It was a good event.

Re-doing a Bathroom

My parents gave me a gift card to buy paint, nominally for the living room, they said. (Which really does need to be painted.) However, since I'm not ready to tackle that yet, I decided to give my drab bathroom a makeover.

Step one: New paint.

Ah, refreshing.

Step 2: New hardware.

Step 3: New shower curtain.

It's very happy!

I'll get around to step 4 (new towels, rug) and step 5 (hanging the pictures) eventually. For now, it's a welcome change!

So I uploaded the pictures to Google+ and discovered that they automatically make Gifs. These make me happy.

Vandal-eyesing Things

So I follow Anne Wheaton on Twitter (she's Wil Wheaton's wife) and aside from being a perfectly adorable person (can I live next door to them?), she's into this whole Vandal Eyes thing. (Follow the link if you want more of an explanation.) I picked up some sticky googly-eyes a little while ago, and we've been having fun spreading the love.

What Crawled into Our Garage

Wednesday, we came home from Zumba and discovered a turtle had wandered into his garage.  I'm surprised I didn't run over it on my way out....

We tried to figure out what to do with it, and figured when we were done running around for the day, we'd take it to a creek. So, we put it in a box.

And left the garage door open. When we went out a couple hours later, the turtle was gone. I guess all we had to do was get out of the way.

A Curiosity

We get our eggs from a local farmer, and the other day when Kristen was helping make pancakes the other day. She thought it was a hilarious: an egg with two tops and no bottoms! So we took a picture of it.

The Last Train to Paris

Russell loves hosting Murder Mystery parties, not only for adults, but every once in a while for older teens, too. Megan was tickled (I know: she doesn't look it) to be a part of the group. And even though the Big Storm and a power outage threatened to derail it, we managed to pull it off (thanks to the Austins for loaning out their house). 

They all had a fantastic time. 

What We Do When Grandparents Come to Visit

We talk a lot.
We swim.

We don't spend enough time with them, because it was a busy weekend. Good thing we're off to Michigan soon.
